DRAMA KARMA
Meet the woman behind Drama Karma

Janine Callary

Owner / Tutor
Janine began her exploration of the performing arts world over 24 years ago, treading the boards in her local community theatre... and was immediately determined to make it a life-long journey!

DRAMA KARMA
Over 10 years of excellence

During her earlier years, Janine performed in productions with different theatre groups, including Gosford Musical Society, playing roles such as 'Mammy Yokum' in Lil' Abner.

Attending The Hunter School Of Performing Arts, Janine completed her HSC knowing that whether it be in front of a camera, on the stage, or behind the scenes, she had chosen the right path!

Obtaining a Bachelor Of Arts degree (with a major in drama) at Newcastle University allowed Janine to gain experience in directing and further performance, playing a number of roles in university productions, including 'Mrs Dungbeetle' in The Insect Play and 'Ma Ubu' in Ubu Roi. Janine also gained a number of C.O.N.D.A award nominations during this time for both directing and acting.

Whilst she has enjoyed working on different projects in front of the camera over the years, ( including TVC's, extra work, and film pilots), Janine's main passion remains the stage.

Now in her eleventh year of teaching, Janine's students have enjoyed great success in Speech and Drama Eisteddfods over the years, and positive results in auditioning for performing arts schools. More importantly, Janine has enjoyed watching her students develop their skills, and grow in confidence and creativity.

Janine welcomes all ages, from seven years and up, to join in her classes, whether it be for self-confidence, actor training, or just for fun!
